Event Details

ACTORS:

Recover an unshakeable confidence in your ability to act. Develop an approach that will ease your work and restore your enjoyment of it for years to come.

Limited to six actors by invitation. To request an audition, email us at ElaThierActors@gmail.com.

DIRECTORS:

Discover and practice directing tools that will help you consistently evoke from your actors natural and powerful performances that read well on camera. Find out how to give actors the safety to bring creativity into their collaboration with you, while you gain greater control in bringing your personal vision to life.

Workshop includes talks and demonstrations. Each participating director receives a full hour of a coached rehearsal session in which you work with actors in a guided fashion and practice applying the tools covered in the class.

Directors who also write may submit a scene for consideration to be directed at the workshop, provided scene is submitted at least a week before the start of the workshop.

This workshop is requisite to participation in Ela Thier's weekly writing-directing lab.

AUDIT:

Directors, actors, and anyone interested in learning more about the craft, are welcome to audit the class. Observing the workshop is a great way to get your feet wet, and walk away with a set of powerful tools that you can then apply to your own work. Audits will also participate in some of the exercises.
